Introduction to Antique Clock Repair and Maintenance.

Students will learn to disassemble, clean and repair an American 8 day time and strike clock.
Students must bring their own American 8 day mantle or shelf clock. (Project clocks may be purchased)

       Tools Supplied:

  • Spring winder
  • Spring clamps
  • Oil pen
  • Let down key
  • Pivot locator
  • Assembly post kit
  • Orange stick / pith-wood

 Students Need to Bring: (available at Harbor Freight or hardware stores)

  • Tupperware with lid to hold clock parts
  • White 2'x3' shop towel for working surface. Also, shop rags and paper towels
  • Set of small pliers: smooth jaw , long nose, diagonal cutters
  • Set of small screw drivers & long shank screwdrivers to remove movement
  • Eye loupe or optical hood
  • Safety glasses
  • Gloves
